- Set up your own flickr account, upload a photo and add tags to it
Week 6: Online tools and applications
- Set up your own personalised homepage
- Find out about mobile phones and how they are being used and may potentially be used in libraries
- Take a photo with your phone and upload it to your blog
- Try viewing a website on your mobile phone
- If you use Internet Explorer, download Firefox and have a play
- If you use Firefox, download Opera and have a play
- Customise your browser toolbar
- Create your own toolbar
- Create your own widget
- Spend some time exploring some award winning mashups
- Create your own mashup
Week 7: Podcasts and online video
- Pick your podcatcher and subscribe to some podcasts
- Create an account with YouTube or Google Video
- Add media to your blog and wiki page
- Become a podcaster!
Week 8: Social networking sites
- Set up an account with Ning and join the Learning 2.0 Ning network
- Create an account with Twitter and tweet for a week
Week 9: Catch up week
Week 10:Gaming and virtual worlds
- Find an online game, play it and blog about your experiences
- Attend the workshop or read through the handouts from the workshop. Create a Second Life account, download the software, create an avatar and explore Second Life
- Blog your thoughts on the possible applications in libraries and/or higher education
